Lakeshore Recycling Systems 4466: Speedy Mack LR Heil Curotto Can Garbage Truck

This is NOT a fault of the driver, as he has been instructed by his supervisor to do so. The driver was very nice and kind enough to let me film, in no way should this video be used against him for any reason. This video was not recorded with the intent to get the driver in trouble, but STRICTLY for entertainment purposes. I would be very upset if the driver got in trouble from what I am doing. I initially set out to film the Condor Automizer that used to run this route, however upon arriving I found this truck instead of the ASL. I later learned that all of the Ex-Madison, WI ASL’s were sold off to somewhere in Arkansas, and more trucks like these were bought. It’s very interesting to see this truck running this route, as it's in an open market area with a lot more driving since Lakeshore doesn’t have much market share, so I think an ASL works much better. While it is sad to see the ASLs go, this truck isn’t too bad as it ran pretty fast and the driver had some pretty cool tricks up his sleeve. It’s also spec’d slightly different than it’s sister units; it has a shorter wheelbase, solid curbside door, newer Curotto Can, and a logo on the Curotto on the curb side. I haven’t always been fond of the new Curotto gripper design, but after watching this truck run this route with all the Rehrigs, Cascades, Ottos, and SSI’s, I think it works quite well. The key is leaving a little space between the knuckle and the cart as well as adjusting the gripper strength, and the cart won’t slide around as much.
