@
@TheHairlessChimp3 years agoGreat list. One that's currently free I don't think you've mentioned is 1989's The Killer. Directed by John Woo and starring Chow Yun-fat. It's one of my all time favourite movies and regarded as one of, if not the best, action movies ever from Chinese cinema. A must watch. Keep up the great work and awesome content. ...1

@
@FreakyWon3 years agoI have seen all of these movies. But I wanted to just say something I am sure you have heard before but can't hurt to say again. I started watching faithfully when one of your videos ended up a suggestion and all the movies on the list that I had seen, I agreed with you on. And not just whether it was good or not but in most of your commentary. So fan for life here, thank you and keep doing what you do. ...
@
@tunguskalumberjack99873 years agoI absolutely loved Fanboys when I saw it a few years back- so glad to know that I can catch it again on YouTube. I think that I’m going to go straight to your top pick here, and check out “The Count Of Monte Cristo”- never read it, but I do love the classics. In fact, it wasn’t on your list, but I did see it for free on YouTube just a couple of months ago, and it’s actually my favorite movie, and book-“Moby Dick”. The 1956 version, starring Gregory Peck as Ahab and Richard Basehart as Ishmael- as always, Gregory Peck is a force of nature in this role, and as much as I like Patrick Stewart in other things, no one can hold a candle to Peck’s portrayal. My favorite movie used to be “Jaws”, until I saw this- and funnily enough, it’s the same story at it’s heart. Check it out if you’ve never seen it- ...4

@ValdezJu3 years agoI agree 100% with your take Don Cheadle and the movie "Traitor" - gonna watch again. I'm also going to watch "The Vault" (don't think I've ever seen it) because I'll watch any movie James Franco's in, no matter how bad! ツ👍 ...2

@markuszussner73593 years agoSeen 'Monsters' when it first came out. Really wanted to watch it again. Loved it. The sequel 'Monsters: Dark Continent' was an excellent sequel. Set in the Middle East tormenting a group of American Soldiers facing both the aliens and the human threat. ...2
@
@ademozkum2716last yearThere's a great out-of-print independent film here on YouTube called "Series 7: The Contenders," which stars Brooke Smith (the kidnapped girl from "The Silence of the Lambs". It's kind of low res at 240p but still worth a watch. ...

@
@dmustakasjr3 years agoDon Cheadle plays second fiddle.. TO ABSOLUTELY FING NOOBOOODY! Check out his leading man role in Capt Planet here on YouTube :D 1
@
@neil61703 years agoI've heard you mention " The silence of the lambs". If you haven't seen it I implore you, please watch "The world's fastest Indian" with Anthony Hopkins. Not only one of the most engaging and uplifting films I've seen, but a perfect contrast to "The silence of the lambs". You will be amazed by the transformation from abhorrent to endearing in the two films. I can't say he is underrated as an actor, but to the casual fan I think he is definitely under represented in terms of versatility. This is one of the movies I recommend to everyone, and hardly anyone actually watches because the description completely under sells the experience. But everyone who watches it falls in love with "The world's fastest Indian". Sales pitch over. Thanks for some great movies 😌 ...

@MosnoAlMoseeki3 years agoDude! you are ON IT!! Thank you. I'm now curious about seeing "Blitz", "The Count of Monte Cristo" and "Unlocked", they seem pretty cool. I'm happy to say that I have seen 4 of those films, and as a Sudanese person I absolutely LOVED (and own) "Traitor". I agree with you, Mr. Cheadle needs to be more on the spot light, he is fantastic, and this movie really didn't get the amount of PR that it deserves. Monsters: Was a very cool film, and learning about how the film was made, made me appreciate it even more. The Hunter: Was fantastic. The Illusionist: Beautiful film, if you liked "The Prestige", you will most likely enjoy this one as well. ...2

@wrinkledm3 years agoThe Illusionist... Ummm, Jessica Biel!!! Still one of my favorite movies
@
@mybraineatseverything74043 years agoI love that you put the links in the pinned comment! Thanks very much! P.S. The only recommendation of yours I didn't like was Goodnight Mommy. Lame-ass movie. I was hoping for more of a twist. Kid was just a psycho. I had it figured out in the first 5 minutes. I hate it when that happens! ...
@
@pinkimietz32433 years agoFor free or payed for. Those are gems!
@
@raehobbs72913 years agoWhile I haven’t seen it and thus can’t speak for the quality, but there is a sequel to Monsters where you can see a lot more of the monsters. The trailer alone shows plenty, so if the movie is unwatchable you can still get your monster itch fixed! ...
@
@vonniedemers56833 years agoDarren can you do Starz? Also check out "Children of the Corn 666" just for kicks. It's a forgotten sequel not many know about. The best part is Issac, the original character, is in it. Thanks
@
@MJ-ge6jz3 years agoWill check out SPIRIT and Fanboys! Thx! Question: Is it not true most of these YouTube movies are censored compared to the theatrical release?

@
@cammobunker3 years agoThe Illusionist is a great movie, as are Traitor and The Vault. You will not expect the hook in The Vault. It's NOT what you think it is. Also watch for the girl who played Pennsytucky in "Orange is the New Black". ...

@jackmackakaheavyguyhaiku5453 years agoI know that you probably had a mindset on the types of flicks to put on this video. However, I think that the best film on YouTube right now for free is Dead Snow 2: Red vs Dead. It's batcrap in the best way possible. It combines elements of Dead Snow, Idle Hands and Braveheart. ...
