Dear friends, today I am going to show you the way I planted and propagated SUGAR CANE plant at my home yard from STEM CUTTING. Sugarcane is propagated primarily by the planting of cuttings. The sections of the stalk of immature cane used for planting are known as seed cane, or cane sets, and have two or more buds (eyes), usually three. Seed cane is planted in well-worked fields. AS SHOWN MAKE A GROOVE OF 10 CM WIDTH AND LENGHT AS REQUIRED. GIVE MORE WATER TO THE GROOVES SINCE SUGARCANE NEEDS MORE WATER TO GROW THAN ANY OTHER PLANTS. SEE I MADE A GROOVE OF 10CM WIDTH AND 2 METERS LENGHT IN THE SOIL WHERE I PLANNED TO HARVEST MY SUGARCANE PLANTS REMOVED ALL THE WASTE AND WEEDS THAT USUALLY DISTURBS THE GROWTH OF ANY PLANTS. The root systems of weeds can tell us a great deal about soil conditions. For example, weeds that have deep taproots, such as dandelions and burdock, generally indicate soils that are compacted, preventing plants with lesser roots from taking hold 1.26 PUT REQUIRED AMOUNT OF LIME. It has been used safely in agriculture for over a thousand years to change the soil pH, making it easier for plants to take up minerals and nutrients from the soil. Lime also promotes the spread of new, good bacteria in your garden by supplying critical nutrients like phosphorus and zinc in your soil. KEPT FOR 2 DAYS TO ALLOW THE SOIL MIX WITH THE LIME 1.38 DECIDED TO PLANt HORIZONTALLY WHICH GIVES FAST SPROUTING FROM TWO OR THREE NODES. STARTED PLANTING HORIZONTALLY INSIDE THE GROOVE AND COVERED WITH SOIL WITH A THICKNESS OF TWO INCHES. THE LENGTH OF EACH STEM SHOULD BE 10 TO 20 CENTIMETRES AND HAVING TWO OR MORE NODES WHICH HELPS TO SPROUT MORE PLANTS FROM EACH NODES. MAKE SURE THAT THE PLANTING AREA IS HAVING PLENTY OF WATER SOURCE. SINCE CANE SUGAR PLANT NEEDS MORE WATER THAN ANY OTHER HOUSE PLANTS. I WAS MONITORING THE PLANTS DAILY UNTIL I SEE SPROUTING OF THE SAME IN 7 DAYS OF PLANTING DATE. AFTER 10 MONTHS: A sugarcane plant can produce several stalks each, of which can grow well over ten feet and become fully mature in about 10 to 14 months. The best time to plant is between September to November and sprouting will start in early spring. IT TOOK AROUNT 10 MONTHS TO GROW ALL THE PLANTS UPTO 10 FEET HIGH. AND TODAY I STARTED HARVESTING THE SAME WITH THE HELP OF MY FRIEND ASLAM A NATIVE OF ASSAM WHO IS HELPING ME IN MY HOME GARDEN.
