The word contrast means something strikingly different from another, as day and night, black and white, good and bad and so on. Prepositions of Contrast help us highlight and talk about features and characteristics which make one person, thing or situation different from another. In other words, Prepositions of Contrast introduce the element in a sentence which is completely different from the one already mentioned or going to be mentioned. In this lesson, we will study how FOR, WITH, AFTER and UNLIKE, can be used as Prepositions of Contrast. Along with it, we will also learn how to correctly use prepositional expressions IN SPITE OF & DESPITE to show the contrast in a sentence.
