Conditions on the day were near perfect without a breath of wind so casting was easy but the tips in this video will allow you to see how to tune your reel on the bank whatever the weather. Being realistic learning to cast baitcasters is a steep learning curve. Do the basics right and be cautious at first until you gain confidence and become more proficient with your gear. Unfortunately due to "technical difficulties" i.e i ran out of batteries i wasn't able to take the reel to it's absolute limits on the day but that i think is irrelevant as i was gaining the distance i would expect with this outfit. It is not an expensive outfit but does the job i ask of it. Dearer reels will i'm sure gain you extra yards and possibly better braking systems, so buy the best you can afford but make sure it is suited to the weight of lure you wish to cast. There is no point buying a reel built to cast heavy lures and trying to use it to cast light lures and vice versa. Hope this is of some assistance.
