Arabian Falafel with Hummus Sauce Recipe
Falafel فلافل is a deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas, fava beans, or both. Falafel is a traditional Middle Eastern food, commonly served in a pita, which acts as a pocket, or wrapped in a flatbread known as taboon; "falafel" also frequently refers to a wrapped sandwich that is prepared in this way.
Hummus الحمص is a dip, spread, or savory dish made from cooked, mashed chickpeas blended with tahini, lemon juice, and garlic. It is popular in the Middle East and in Middle Eastern cuisine around the globe.
Falafel Ingredients
Chickpeas (Safaid Chaney) - 500 Grams (Soaked over night)
Onion (Pyaaz) - 1/4 cup
Green Chili (Hari Mirch) - 2 to 3 whole
Coriander (Dhania) - i gadi
Garlic (Lehsen) - 6 cloves
Cumin (Zeera) Powder - 1 Tsp
Black Pepper (Kali Mirch) Powder - 1 Tsp
Coriander (Dhania) Powder - 1 Tsp
Salt (Namak) - 1 Tsp or to taste
In a chopper - add every thing - and chop evenly - now make balls - put the balls in oil for deep fry - don't stir - fry for 15 to 20 minutes on low flame - once the falafel color is golden brown - drain oil and put them in a plate.
Hummus Ingredients
Sesame Seeds (Safaid Til) - 1 Cup
Olive Oil (Zeitoon ka teil) - 1.5 Cup
Chickpeas (Safaid Chaney) - 250 Grams (Soaked over night & Boiled)
Salt (Namak) - 1 Tsp or to taste
Lemon Juice (Nimbu ka Rus) - 3 Tbsp
Garlic (Lehsen) - 4 to 5 chopped
Water (Pani) - 1/2 Cup (If required)
First make Tahini sauce - In a blender - add sesame seeds & Olive Oil 1 Cup - Blend it - make a thin paste - make sure it is uniform - Tahini sauce is ready - now add chickpeas, salt, lemon Juice, Garlic and blend - add water to make mixture soft and thin - Hummus sauce is ready.
Lets make Falafel Sandwich - take a pita bread - toast it on a pan - slice in to equal sides - slice in between - add some Hummus sauce in it - stuff with Salad leaves, onion & tomato slices - also add falafel in it - Falafel sandwich is ready.
Now serve the delicious Arabia Falafel with Hummus sauce in a platter.
