How to make puffed Indian Roti over flame | ஓட்ஸ் சப்பாத்தி | Oats Roti | Oats Chapathi | Oats Phulka | Soft Chapathi / Roti / Phulka | How to make Phulka without Oil | புல்கா ரொட்டி | How to make Soft Phulka
Ingredients:
Wheat Flour – 2 Cups
Oats Flour – 1 Cup
Refined Flour (Maida) – 1 Tbsp
Salt
Water – 1 Cup
Method of Preparation:
1.Luke warm the water, powder the oats in mixie
2.Add water gradually to form knead a soft dough
3.Kneading soft dough is very important as it yields in super soft phulka/ Roti.
4.If you feel your dough needs little extra water you can add but the end result needs to be a soft and non sticky dough.
5.Apply oil over the soft dough
6.Keep the dough aside for 15 to 20 minutes covered.
7.Divide the dough for even sized balls for phulka making
8.Apply flour and roll the dough balls inbetween your hand palm for giving even size
9.Roll it thin and evenly helps the roti/ phulka to puff up easily.
10.Roll out all the dough into equal sized roti/ phulka and keep it aside.
11.Heat tawa in one side and place the rolled roti on preheated tawa.
12.Cook without any oil.
13.When you see brown spots on one side flip it gently.
14.When you find brown spots on the other side too remove the roti from tawa
15.Raise the stove flame and place the roti grill
16.Place the phulka gently over roti grill in high flame.
17.The phulka/ roti will puff up immediately and as soon as you see it is puffed turn it fast
18.Cook it for few seconds again and you could see it is puffed
19.Transfer it to a plate and Serve it with any curry of your choice
