This is a follow up video to a previous video that demonstrates actual exercises to help raise and strengthen fallen foot arches that are responsible for creating flat feet. Flat feet might not cause pain issues but if they do its important to deal with them competently. The health of the foot in terms of flat feet is important because it can create problems in later life, further up the leg. Exercise 1 is called the tea towel scrunch. As seen in the video the idea is to pull the tea towel from the bottom all the way to the top. Its clear from the flat foot condition how difficult this is . Doing the exercise can cause cramping, this just means the right part of the foot is being activated, but its weak and cannot yet cope. Its important to persevere and over time the ability to scrunch the towel will improve. Doing this exercise once a day both sides is sufficient. Exercise 2 is a single leg heel raise. The point of the exercise isn't to raise the arch as high as possible. In fact its possible to see from the video a slight lift is sufficient. 10 repetitions is a start, build up to twice a day. repeat on the other foot. Exercise 3 is a single leg hop. If you imagine drawing a line on the sole of the foot from the centre point of the heel to the middle of the underneath side of the toe and then another line to the middle of the underneath side of the small toe and then a line from the point on the little toe to the point on the big toe, it will resemble a triangle. To create stability and strengthen the foot arches concentration, must be applied to land within the parameters of that triangle, without wobbling inwards or outwards. 10 hops on each foot is a good start. Once again the benefit of bare foot walking is advocated.
