Uttar Pradesh’s New Special Security Force With Power To ‘Arrest’ Without Prior Warrant

The Yogi Adityanath led Uttar Pradesh govt has given the nod to set up a special force. The Special Security Force or SSF will have powers similar powers to Central Industrial Security Force. It will be empowered to make ‘arrests’ and conduct ‘searches’ without any prior warrant. The SSF will be responsible for the security of important government buildings in the state like courts, airports govt offices and so on.
