The Dyfi Furnace is a charcoal-burning blast furnace built around 1755. It is probably the best-preserved example of this type of industrial furnace in Britain. The industrial heritage of Furnace goes back long before the mill was established here. In the 17th century, the area was known for silver, lead, and copper mining. The first industrial buildings on the site were the Ynyshir lead smelting works, established in the early 17th century. The Dyfi Furnace has been called a 'hidden industrial gem' and it certainly is :) You can find this place about 5 miles south west of Machynlleth on the A487. Signposted parking across the road from the mill. This was filmed on a trip to North Wales in 2018 Hope you Enjoy
