Now, this guy was the Voldemort of my school. He was E-V-I-L. He was not a father-type. He was not a responsibility type. Honestly? I hated him, with every fiber of my being. I wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole! So, how exactly did I end up pregnant with his kid? I grew up pretty wealthy. White picket fence, two story house, two-car garage…two parents, the whole deal. Most of the people in my school didn’t have that privilege. I was the nerd, the teacher’s pet, the girl who always did extra credit…and I got made fun of for that a lot. Like, a lot, a lot. But the person who was the worst? The person I hated, the person I wouldn’t touch with a ten foot pole: James. I mean, from the moment I met him way back in 2nd grade all the way through high school, he went after me like I had a target on my back. He called me ‘princess’, he spit spitballs at my head, he tripped me in the hall, he ridiculed me every time I spoke. Anytime I would do something good in class, he would make a joke to cut me down as ‘the teacher's pet.’ I mean, seriously?! I could never figure out what that jerk had against me. He even started saying things like: “I bet mommy and daddy bought that outfit for you.” We were like fourteen at the time…weren’t my parents supposed to be doing that? Aside from the bullying… Aside from James, my life was pretty perfect. That is…until I found out the news. One night, I went to a party. I normally wasn’t the type to go, but my parents told me I needed to get out of the house more. So…I lied and I told them I was going to a friend’s house. I got there and I started dancing. I backed up…and who do you think I bumped into? Yeah, James. I rolled my eyes and tried to step away, but James started yelling to the people around us: “Princess is out of her castle! I bet mommy and daddy don’t know she’s here.” I could feel the eyes on me. I started to think that James was right…maybe I didn’t belong here. Everyone else was cooler than me. When the laughing started, I ran out of the party. But when I got home…things got even worse. My dad was on the couch kissing a half-naked woman. A woman that wasn’t my mom. I couldn’t believe my eyes. He looked up and saw me…but I ran out of the house. I felt like everything was crumbling around me. I didn’t have a place to go…so I went back to the party, and I started actually partying. I did things I never would have done before. But I was just so angry, and so hurt about what I had seen. People at the party encouraged me to party and drink. I started to feel out of control.
