@scottsoriero8377منذ 3 سنوات Pat, I am a huge fan of yours. I am a retired firefighter from very busy city in NJ for 30 years. Had to retire due to injury. I became a realtor some id="hidden2" class="buttons"> time ago. Being a realtor allows me to do what I have always done and love doing and that is helping people. The word fiduciary is one that I take extremely seriously. I negotiate very strongly for my clients whether they are buyers , sellers or investors and protect their money, they trust me. I have very good relationships with other realtors, but make no mistake, business is business. I actually love a win scenario where both parties feel that things were fair and equal. That does not happen often but I do like it when it does. At the end of the day I have never and will never work behind my client's back with the other realtor to drive up a price or do anything underhanded. I took a personal oath to what is right and always do what is best for my clients'. Its what you do when no one is watching that defines a person's integrity. Not all of us are cut from the same mold. I love your channel and highly admire you Pat keep up the great work! ....وسعت 1

@maryadams3087منذ 3 سنوات Patrick, that is an over-simplification. I have been a real estate agent since 2006. It is unethical and disloyal to team up with another realtor to get id="hidden3" class="buttons"> the most money out of the deal without considering the client to whom we each have a fiduciary duty to be their personal super star, not the interest of anyone else's pocketbook, including our own! Have I known agents who are unethical, yes, but they burn eventually themselves by their own behavior and their reputations precede them. Thank you for opening up dialogue about this topic and the many other conversations you bring to the table. Best Regards and Highest Respect, Mary Adams ....وسعت 2

@rickypalaciosrealtyمنذ 3 سنوات As a Realtor in Las Vegas I can see your point. But there’s another version of this that doesn’t take current market condition into consideration. At some point, in my experience recently, yes we have conversations like that with the sellers agent for example but it’s to compete and win the home for the client not to increase our bottom line. Different markets create different strategies. If It takes me speaking with the listing agent like this to beat out 30+ offers for the same home after a month of viewing properties. I will have that conversation and make sure the deal goes through as a win for everybody. It’s all about creating win situations while building better relationships all around. ....وسعت 5

@fred_buttsمنذ 3 سنوات Pat’s point is valid across MOST service industries, including the one he work in. Lawyers, Insurance companies, Realtors, Businesses of all sectors have people that operate with high ethical and moral standards, and those that operate with no ethics or moral standards. The key is to look for those people that share your values. If the real estate agent, lawyer, or insurance agent you are considering does not know and state his core values, odds are he is not operating from them. ....وسعت

@OsbieCamacho509منذ 3 سنوات As a licensed realtor I practice a win model! Yes I want my buyers to win however in a competitive market some compromises may have to be made on the buyers id="hidden8" class="buttons"> side which I don’t have an issue relaying to the buyers of course! There are however a few agents I’ve done repeated business with who, if I throw an offer at them, I’ll tell them “throw me a bone bro”! Every agent has their fiduciary duties of course!

@therodgersgroup5952منذ 3 سنوات @PatrickBetDavid - great points. It all boils down to working with someone with character & competence. An agent that has relationships in the marketplace id="hidden10" class="buttons"> can add value with market insights & professional working relationships with other agents. That doesn't matter if their actions aren't client-centered & rooted in honesty. I realized a long time ago that looking out for the best interests of clients may not pay off in the short term, but will ALWAYS pay off in the long term by serving clients best interests first! ....وسعت

@KRscienceمنذ 3 سنوات I was so naïve when I bought my house, and the realtor took advantage of it. It was my fault for not reading up better on the subject. Next time I buy, I will not be such an "easy" client. Realtors are like used car salesmen. They want you to close on a sale more than anything else. That is after all, how they get paid. The claim that they act in your best interest is bulls#!t. ....وسعت 10

@zach2733العام الماضي Maybe this is true in a small community with 3 agents but most of the time the agents barely know each other on top of that both agents won’t make enough of a difference to risk losing a deal. The vast majority of the time both agents are going to go bat for you because they want you to buy/sell the property and be happy with their job performance to refer you business. ....وسعت 1

@twinworks1منذ 3 سنوات I’m not saying what you said isn’t common but there are good ethical realtors. I like to think that I’m one of them. I recently got a buyer a house and in this market in SoCal I got the house $15,000 under list. I didn’t know the other realtor but I talked to them and from my discussion I realized the seller was motivated. My buyer was willing to pay asking but I told him I’m pretty sure we can get it for less and we did. I could have just offered the higher asking price and made the extra commission but that’s not my job. When representing the buyer my job is to get them the best price possible. He didn’t have to promise me referrals for me to do my job. If I do a great job the referrals will come. ....وسعت

@how2diy7منذ 3 سنوات Our policy is to never influence price for a buyer or a seller. Doing so opens you up to a lot of liability. A true transaction broker’s job is to bring a buyer and seller together and work to archive both of their goals.

@jackominty3633منذ 3 سنوات I am in no way connected to the business - I bought two properties in my life - but I firmly believe this:
    (1) It's ONLY about volume of transitions. id="hidden36" class="buttons"> The seller's realtor doesn't care if it sells for 700K or 650K - if they can sell for 650K today or 700K probably someday soon - they will happily get you to sign for 650K - less if necessary/possible. They only need to know that you are prepared to accept that number.
    (2) Effectively, EVERYONE is working for the buyer.
It's about moving on to the next deal.
