You don't need to do a lot of fancy fabricating to get the clearance needed when installing your Lowrance Total Scan Transducer to your Flex Pod. When I first bought my Lowrance HDS Carbon 7 for my ATAK 120, there was not an over abundance of information regarding mounting the ginormous transducer to the Flex Pod. Sure after searching the forums and FB pages there were several ideas that, well, looked pretty labor intensive and down right gawdy. So, the best thing for me to do was start from scratch. I measured the distance needed for the transducer to clear the hull of my ATAK 120, 4.5 inches for anyone wondering, and began digging around my shop for anything that would work. Voila! I came across a transducer mounting plate that I had purchased several years earlier and never used on my bass rig. The "TRANSDUCER MOUNTING PLATE" from RIG RITE MFG, part number 920, is a marine grade polymer plate that is 12 inches long by 3.5 inches wide by right at 3/4 of an inch thick. I cut off a piece just big enough to secure the provided transducer mount too and I ended up with a perfect clearance for me.
