Mankatha (Trans. Gambling) is a 2011 Indian Tamil-language action crime film written and directed by Venkat Prabhu.It stars Ajith Kumar in his 50th film, Plot: ACP Vinayak Mahadevan pretends to be a corrupt cop to infiltrate an illegal business operation run by Arumuga Chettiyar. With the help of his friend Prithvi, he fakes his own death during a heist. They steal ₹500 crore (US$63 million) from Chettiyar and escape, each taking ₹250 crore (US$31 million). Praveen Kumar, another officer, discovers Vinayak alive and calls Prithvi. However, it's revealed they planned it all together. Vinayak confronts Praveen, and they inform him that the money is safe in the Bank of England.
