Have you ever seen a zebrafish eye

We study zebrafish embryos to learn more about Usher syndrome - a rare genetic disease that is the leading cause of deafblindness (a combination of sight and hearing loss). Sadly, we do not know the cause of this disease and there are no treatments currently available. By looking inside the eye of a zebrafish, we can see how it functions and understand what goes wrong in Usher syndrome. With time, we hope to find a cause and develop some much needed therapies to treat it.
