In this simple calming activity you'll be doing a guided meditation on J.M.W Turner's beautiful painting The Evening Star. What can you see when you spend time with an artwork? You will need: A pen and some sticky notes. This activity is all about being present and focused, so before we start, join in with this "square breathing" warm up to slow down, relax and focus. In support of the recovery curriculum, the Creative Mindfulness series has been designed as a school resource to help students relax, recuperate, and refocus in class, as well as to inspire creativity. We encourage teachers to use these videos in the classroom as a lesson starter for any subject, to begin or end the day, or as a creative prompt for art lessons. Each of the 7 activities have been broken down into step by step chapters you can join in with. The resources are suitable for KS3 students, but students and adults of all ages can use these resources to find a moment of creative calm. Videos presented by artists Ted Rogers and Holly Hunter.
