Get down with Bahrain’s latest jazz hip hop project, Tribe11, for an evening full of urban jazziness, performed by some of Bahrain’s best jazz and soul artists! Tribe11 features Xenai ( Vocals), Esraa J ( Vocals), Elton Shera (Saxophone), Salah Alawi (Bass), Debbi Francisco ( Drums) and Ronald Shera ( Keys) The Bahrain Jazz Fest will mark the tenth anniversary of the International Jazz Day 2021—a UNESCO designated event. Supported by the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibition Authority, this will be a six-day virtual music festival dedicated to celebrating jazz culture in Bahrain. Presented by BNP Paribas, the curated and livestreamed shows will showcase both local and international musicians on YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. There will also be virtual workshops, webinars, discussions and more available for free to the public. The program will feature Bahrain’s top jazz talent in a variety of performances fusing Arabic and Bahraini elements with jazz music. International showcases from USA and Luxembourg, in association by the US Embassy Bahrain and the Kultur |lx Arts Council Luxembourg respectively will add a unique flavor to the festival. We hope that jazz music will go beyond being an art form to becoming a platform of expressions of diversity and tolerance.” The International Jazz Day, designated as April 30 by the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), is intended to create global awareness, appreciation and conversation about jazz music and highlight its diplomatic role of uniting people across borders. Jazz enthusiasts on this day celebrate and engage in intercultural dialogue, appreciate the roots of this form of music and discuss and deliberate on how to strengthen its future. Each year on April 30, this international art form is recognized for promoting peace, dialogue among cultures, diversity, and respect for human rights and human dignity; eradicating discrimination; promoting freedom of expression; fostering gender equality; and reinforcing the role of youth in enacting social change.
