The Wrangler Rubicon 392 is a small off-road SUV from Jeep that features a 470-horsepower V8 engine. We'll repeat that so it sinks in: The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 comes with a V8 and 470 horsepower! In this video, Carlos Lago from Edmunds gives all the details about the Wrangler Rubicon 392, from its 0-60 mph acceleration to what it's like on- and off-road. This our review of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392.
The Wrangler Rubicon 392 is an impressive SUV. Not only does it retain the Rubicon's impressive low-speed off-road capabilities, but its 6.4-liter (392-cubic-inch) V8 engine adds muscle-car-like speed and sound to the Wrangler.
Jeep has a reputation for building capable off-road SUVs, and the Wrangler Rubicon 392 is no exception. The Rubicon 392's ability to tackle any terrain is what sets the Wrangler apart from other off-road vehicles. And while the V8 means gas mileage takes a dive, the Rubicon 392's added weight seems to have improved the on-road steering feel.
The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 392 is loaded with power and off-roading features. It is without a doubt one of the most fun vehicles we've tested over the past year.

@rodevans13903 years agoI've had my 392 for a month, I've put over 2,500 miles on it, and I'm averaging 15.72 mpg (mostly highway miles). I love it! 21

@dscottlunsford3 years agoGreat review! Thank you! Helped me make a decision to buy one. It’s on order and I’m looking forward to smiling and laughing behind the wheel as much as the reviewer did. Thank you again. Well done! 10
@
@danielmiller43542 years agoThanks to your video five almost six months ago I placed my order on a 392XR. Now the time is finally arriving it’s getting loaded on a train and on its way. @JJaguar0013 years agoI was surprised by 0-60 time. Great episode. Thanks!
@
@blackice74083 years agoIt's crazy how the base price of thus 392 wrangler costs more than the base price of a supercharged ram trx 26
@
@Sithlord2243 years agoOr maybe talk to someone who cares 🤷🏻♂️ 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 this is why I like Carlos 22
@
@michaelpatterson98973 years agoGreat review. It's the ONLY Jeep I'd buy. 1

@
@jpate893 years agoLOVE THE 392 HOLY SH%$ it is sooooo damn killer!!!!! Carlos keep up the good work sir. Very informative and cool for us who love all the details about these vehicles design. Also, I learned a new term, “Hate Watching” I never knew that was a thing. But with all the trolls I see on YouTube it makes a lot of sense. I guess people cannot be happy and needed more attention from mommy and daddy growing up. It’s a shame. I feel sorry for them. No hate here bro. More like envy. Keep up the awesome work fella!!! ...
@
@rezamiri1003 years agoMasculine.. Volcano.. Wild horse 392 i love it
@
@JeffKing3103 years agoVery good review and video. I like the Jeep but the price seems heavy... 2
@
@nukesaway48063 years agoBased on how many comments about "I wish it had a v8" the Jeep has ever generated. They should be selling 10 million a year. 5
@
@Kingjay8143 years agoThis is probably the only Wrangler I'd buy.

@user-eu5rb2ep5o3 years ago2 door version is a demand 🔥👌🏼 Specially with a manual 4

@erikbrown26823 years agoI put a 1000hp super charger LT1 with a 8speed in mine a me retained all factory items but I can do burn outs and put in 2 wheel drive
@
@kyle88513 years agoOf all the Wranglers, if I had the money, the 392 would be my go to. If I had less money but still needed a Rubicon, I'd get the 4XE. Those are the two most interesting powertrains Jeep has right now, save the Hellcat, of course. :P ...2
@
@kenbgood4u3 years agoNot the first jeep with a V8 by any means but definitely a take on the big brothers of the past 1

@johntyson3 years agoMy first car in high school was a 1976 CJ5 with a 5.0 V8 and 3 speed manual. So many good times and topless chicks. Lucky I didn’t kill myself or someone else too. 7

@supernova19763 years agoFinally a jeep with the right engine 😍 who needs a G wagon. 5
@
@vwanted22003 years agoThey need to make this engine available in the Willys Package for maybe 60k 3
@
@papag54332 years agoI have the 392 Scatpack and it is an amazing motor. Until these dealerships quit charging 20g over list I won’t be buying one. When I find one for list I will buy it. Might be awhile considering they can’t keep them on the lot. ...
@
@bengashi62083 years agoLove the jeep, i just can’t afford or justify it 1
@
@blakemarchand66503 years agoI’d rather have one of those then a g wagon or a Diesel or anything. I wonder if jeep will put this engine in the gladiator next 16
@
@mvp14313 years agoCarlos obviously the 392 is silly fun in this thing. But I can’t help but think that the 5.7 might have been a more practical idea. You would get better fuel economy and could slot it in between price wise while still having a very quick jeep with v8 sound. Did they explain to you at all why they choose to go straight to the 6.4. At a 30k premium that might be a hard stretch? ...
@
@phillipcraggs62023 years ago, no way that sway bar is disconnected. 1

@
@VoIPPortland3 years agoIf you want to be more incognito and have a blast, this is it. If you want the neighbors and friends all to know you have the latest thing, see 2021/22 Bronco. For me, nothing beats the V8. My Promaster van is already jealous. I put a 6.4 Scatpack emblem on the back of it - confuses many hahaha :) ...3
@
@TypicalGuy843 years agoEdmund obviously hasn't watch any other videos on YouTube because the aftermarket scene has been doing hemi swapps for years and asking for a stock V8 option
@
@telepuzik11193 years agoin Estonia, this car starting price about 65.000 euro, but this 2.0 and 270 horse power(((

@KTMcaptain3 years agoTazer JL mini can defeat the AWD and give line lock for burn outs.
@
@reho73873 years agoGee, only $75K...to start. What a deal.😎
@
@MrJamesLuz3 years agoI’m more excited about this than the TRX or any other insane hellcat powered vehicle. There really isn’t a competitor to this. Maybe Toyota will give us a V8 4Runner without a Lexus badge? Or a turbo V6?
@
@girlenesilva68582 years agoI notice the jeep 392 has a simliar exhuast tone as the Ram TRX did anybody noitce this or just me?
@
@thefilipinoredneck64713 years agoI wonder if the g wagon is intimidated
@
@pynappels2 years agoCarlos could be a stunt double for Ryan Reynolds!
@
@healthyamerican3 years agothere were v8 jeeps on the cj jeeps back in the day. it wasnt meant to be a racing jeep. its about having the power even if you dont need it. the sound, the feel, and then knowing its there if you ever need it. to drive a jeep wrangler fast is missing the point ...1
@
@LoneStarSwirllast yearWhy didn't they put a 5.7 Hemi V8 like they put in several other Jeep vehicles? Would have made more sense all around.
@
@TerronDHardaway3 years agoCool but not $75,000 + fees & dealer mark up 😂😂😂 3

@
@franciscarreon94093 years agoMy judgement coincides is relative to the Giggle factor.
@
@ThePandasian343 years ago“Does not need to run a snorkel” lets be honest...its still gonna happen, and it’ll be a “double cold air intake” for the 392 2
@
@adam_gonzz3 years agoI have the V6 Rubcion. 2021 I may trade it for the 392. Hey you only get to live once right.
@
@rustyshakleford14453 years agoJeeps are “smiles per gallon “ trucks. It’s all about the experience I think
@
@jamesdumas66023 years agoBut why is it so Over Priced? Starting price over $75,000. You can get the same awesome 6.4 Hemi motor in a brand new Challenger Scat Pack or in a Charger starting at $40,000 ($35,000 Less)
@
@stufoo3 years agothis is ridiculous. no one needs this. i love it
@
@wh24243 years agoLove the enthusiasm. But $75K+ for a Rubicon? I think not. 1
@
@danielvasquez94193 years agoGreat video lots of good information but one bad thing I do not like people desecrating my flag
@
@The_Draque3 years agoTRX or Trackhawk or V8 Wrangler hmm...
@
@darylnd3 years agoThat's almost enough for a down payment on a house here in Silicon Valley.
@
@colesherman3 years agoNow just give us a 5.7L Gladiator/Wrangler, 75hp and 60 lb-ft less would still be plenty. 15
@
@synseer84843 years agoYou sold me In the first 13 seconds. Screen could he a bit bigger that's all.
@
@MandusahRamirez3 years agoWhy not just use the 5.7 Hemi??? Less Weight & Cost!!! 2
@
@anonymouswashingtoncenter34622 years agoThat thing is so powerful its almost evil
@
@phillanassa7592 years agoA V8 Hemi Wrangler, what more could a Jeep fan want... aside from a cheaper price that anyone could afford and not sell a Kidney. Regardless, 2 4dr fast 392 Wrangler in that color gets your heart beating faster. If it doesn't call a local undertaker, you may well be dead! ...
@
@paulm64813 years agoThat is a great engine but I rather have it in a Grand Cherokee than Wrangler. No one takes over 70k vehicle off-road. And on road, driving dynamics of Wrangler don’t lend themselves to a grey energine. I take my Wrangler with slow and reliable Pentastar V6. ...1
