Queen Elizabeth Royal Visit 2002

On 7th October 2002, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh visited the University of British Columbia campus as part of the golden jubilee celebrations commemorating the Queen's 50-year reign. The only cultural entertainment presented before Her Majesty during the Golden Jubilee visit to Vancouver, PRP produced a multicultural celebration on the grounds of the University of British Columbia to welcome the Queen and showcase Canada’s diversity of cultures and talent. The festival style show featuring Canadian First Nation drummers and children, Vancouver Academy of Dance, Chibi Taiko Drumming, UBC Gamelan Ensemble, Eire Born Irish Dance, Peggy Peat Dance, Masabo African Ensemble, a 300 voice Mass Choir and over 500 Girl Guides.
