Mix Dal Pakoda sabji is a delicious dish made with 5 different types of lentils. The combination of different spices and mix pulses gives a nice taste to pakoda and when the pakoda is dipped in spicy curry, the pakoda (fritter) becomes soft and it tastes delicious with spices inside it. It can also be served as a main dish along with a side dish. *************************************************** Please Subscribe our channel - /veghungry Follow us on Facebook- https://www.facebook.com/veghungry Follow us on Instagram- https://www.instagram.com/theveghungry Follow us on twitter- https://twitter.com/VegHungry ********************************************************* Ingredients: • Mix lentils: o Split brown lentils (Dhuli masoor daal)- 1tsp o Split peagon peas (Toor daal)-1tsp o Split chickpeas (Dhuli chana daal) -1tsp o Split black gram lentils (Dhuli Urad daal)-1tsp o Split green gram lentils (Moong daal)-1tsp • Chopped onion (medium size)-1 onion • Turmeric powder-2tsp • Garam masala -1tsp • Coriander powder -2 tsp • Red chilli powder-1tsp • Chopped Green chili-1chilli • Cumin seeds-2tsp • Diced ginger-1tsp • Garlic cloves -5-6 cloves • Chopped coriander- ¼ cup • Asafetida (Heeng)- ½ tsp • Salt (as per taste) • Oil for frying • Fresh Tomato puree-1 cup • Fresh garlic and ginger paste-1tsp • Fresh curd-1-1 ½ cup • Fresh cream- ½ cup (for gravy+garnishing) • Kasuri methi-1tsp ******************************************************* Process : Mixed lentils (mix daal ) fritters: • In a bowl add split gram lentil ( chana daal),green (moong daal),(dhuli masoor daal),(dhuli arhar daal),(dhuli urad daal). • Wash them properly and soak them in water for 30 min. • Drain the soaked mix lentils (mix daal) . • In a blender jar add the soaked lentils (mixdaal),4-5 garlic cloves,diced ginger, haldi powder,garam masala,cumin seeds,heeng,salt and green chilli • Blend them in to perfectly blended paste ( Add a little water if required but not too much) • In a bowl add blended paste, chopped onion, chopped green coriander .Put some blended paste of mixed lentils (mixed daal) aside for preparation of puree • Whisk the batter in the same direction for few minutes till it is well aerated. • Heat sufficient oil for frying in a pan. • Drop spoonfuls of the lentil mixture into hot oil to make mixed lentils (mix daal ) pakodas / fritters. Let them cooked on a medium flame, until fritters turned golden brown in color. • Remove fritters from the oil on a absorbent paper. For gravy : • In a bowl add 1tsp haldi powder,1 tsp dhaniya powder,1/2 tsp garam masala ,1/2 tsp asafetida (heeng) and water and mix well to a fine paste. • In a pan add 2 tsp oil, cumin seeds when it starts to sputter add ginger and garlic paste and cook for a while then add pre-ready paste of spices and cook until oil extracts from the spices. • Add tomato puree, and cook until oil extracts from the puree. • Add mix lentils (mix daal) paste, and cook for a while. • Add water slowly –slowly (as per the consistency of gravy you want) and stir it continuously. • Let it boil for few minutes. • Whisk the yogurt and add to the mixture. Mix well and stir continuously until there is a boil. • Let it simmer on low flame for few minutes. • Add the prepared lentil pakodas/fritters and cook on low for another 5 mins. • Add kasuri methi, dry mango powder (aamchurn) and cook for a while. • Turn off the flame, add fresh cream and chopped green coriander to the gravy and mix well. (Fresh cream gives richness and nice flavor to the gravy). For garnishing : In a plate, add some mix daal pakoda sabji and garnish it with some fresh cream, chopped green coriander, chopped onion and green chutney (fresh green chutney and onion enhance the flavors of mixed pakoda sabji).
