I’ll also demonstrate how to make hair scrunchies without a sewing machine – because scrunchies are an everyday item and therefore you need to be able to make hair scrunchies by hand if that’s all that you have available! Below you’ll find the instructions on how to make satin scrunchies along with the measurements I used in the video to make my scrunchie DIY. Standard cotton or elastic hair bands put constant pressure on your hair and cause it to dry out that leads to daily hair damage and breakage. Satin scrunchies with hair ties or elastic however, are extra smooth which leads to less friction and helps to stop damaged hair from breaking. Satin scrunchies are also great for dry natural hair. Cotton absorbs moisture so over time it dries out your hair, but satin fabric is the opposite and helps seal moisture within your hair strands. Once you’ve made So here are the basics: What is Satin? Satin describes a type of fabric that is made in a specific way. It’s often compared to silk, but unlike silk, which is a natural fibre – satin can be made out of any material and is usually synthetic. Making it a suitable vegan alternative.
