This video was taken in Bandipur Forest in Karnataka on the Ooty road from Mysore. There are many wild elephants in this forest. Nobody has the permission to stop the vehicles here. If a elephant is found crossing the road all the vehicles should immediately stop to allow the elephant to cross the road. Elephants are the largest living land mammals. An elephant's most obvious part is the trunk. The trunk is a very long nose, made from the upper lip. An elephant uses its trunk to grab objects such as food. Though the rest of an elephant's hide is strong and thick, its trunk is very soft and sensitive. Elephants also have tusks. Tusks are large teeth coming out of their upper jaws. Female Asian elephants do not have tusks. They have large ears, small eyes and large pillar like feet.
