Coyote in Merritt Island near Pineda Causeway - Protect Pets (December 2, 2012)

A coyote in a back yard in Merritt Island, FL, just north of the Pineda Causeway. The view is looking north along the shore of the Indian River (Intracoastal Waterway.) The waterway is to the left and a house is to the right (where the coyote keeps looking.) A motion-activated security camera was set up after dog-like tracks appeared in the area where wild animals forage at night for dead fish. The first two-thirds of the video was taken at about 12:30am. The last third of the video happened close to 3:00am. Many small pets, especially cats, have vanished along North and South Tropical Trail. Everyone in Merritt Island, from near KSC south to Dragon Point, should protect their pets from these predators.
