Kamakhya - Ranchi Express heading towards Ranchi avoiding Dhanbad - Chandrapura with KGP WDG3A

The train was a bi-weekly train, but it was completely cancelled due to underground fire in the coal mines lying in the Dhanbad - Chandrapura section. Later in February 2018; the train was once again restored as a weekly service, now the train is re-routed to avoid the Dhanbad - Chandrapura portion. This train has another interesting fact. It was initially a day time running train with only sitting accommodation, it used to run as the New Jalpaiguri - Asansol Express, later it was extended in both the ends as Alipurduar - Ranchi Express.
