INGREDIENTS
Rice - 12 Cups
Tamarind - 100 grams
Coriander - 1Tbsp
Sesame seeds - 1 Tsp
Green chili - 2
Mustard Seeds - 1 Tsp
Jeera - 1/2 Tsp
Minapappu/Urad Dal - 1/2 Tsp
Chanaga Pappu - 1/2 Tsp
Peanuts - 2 Tbsp
Dry Red Chili - 5
Curry leaves
Inguva/Hing - 1/4 Tsp
Turmeric 1/2 Tsp
Black Pepper - 1 Tbsp
Salt
PREPARATION
1. Soak 2 Cups Rice for 30 mins. Cook the Rice and add Turmeric and salt.
2. Soak Tamarind for 1 hour, then squeeze to get juices into the water.
3. Grind Coriander, Mustard, Black Pepper, Sesame seeds and salt into smooth powder.
4. Add Tamarind juice to a Pan. Add 1/4 tsp Turmeric, Curry leaves, Green chili and salt. Mix well and cook until it turns into thick paste.
5. Add Tamarind Paste and ground Pulihora mix to the Rice.
6. Take a small pan add Oil, Mustard, Jeera, Peanuts, Minapappu/Urad Dal, Chanaga Pappu/Chana Dal, Black Pepper, Dry Red Chilis, Curry Leaves, Inguva/Hing, Turmeric and cook for 2 minutes. Mix this into Tamarind rice .
