Road crossing of a User Assisted Mobility Scooter

An Outdoor urban environment navigation algorithm applied to a modified Mobility Scooter. The Mobility Scooter uses onboard laser sensors and GPS to perceive the surrounding environment and react appropriately, in this case the mobility scooter performs a road crossing maneuver. The mobility scooter detects the presence of a lowered curb and then proceeds to cross the road. The mobility scooter resumes following the path when it detects another sidewalk at the opposite side of the road. The simulation is carried out in V-REP available for free download at - http://www.v-rep.eu/ while the mobility scooter was designed in 3DS Max and imported into V-REP.
