An Ominous Day: Uprising and storming of the US Capitol January 6, 2021 (with curfew as voiceover)

A montage I made of event footage, sent by friends, on a surreal, unsettling, and (ominously) historic day. I was working late and in a kind of media bubble, and upon turning my phone and devices back on in the evening, I'd learned the seat of the US Congress had been breached and sacked -- for the first time since the British in the War of 1812. Adding to the foreboding of it all, there was an eerie pre-recorded curfew message sent out in regions across the United States affected by the social unrest, including to electronic communications devices, which I've distorted a bit and used as voiceover. It was an unnerving, uncanny twist to the convulsions throughout America -- as if ripped right out of the pages of Orwell or The Hunger Games -- and whatever omens they portend with a pandemic already as backdrop.
