The Kos Minars are medieval Indian milestones along the Grand Trunk Road in northern Indian subcontinent, that were introduced by the 16th-century Pashtun ruler Sher Shah Suri. Kos-Minar is a tower marking the distance at a kos.Kos is a medieval measurement unit of distance denoting approximately 3.2 km and "Minar" is a Persian word for tower.
