How Princess Eugenie's baby will push royals including Prince Edward down the line of succession The royal reshuffle! How Princess Eugenie's newborn son will push senior royals including Prince Edward and Princess Anne further down the line of succession Senior members of the Windsor family will have to shuffle a little further away from the throne after Princess Eugenie announced the birth of her second baby today. The Duke of York's youngest daughter, 32, and her husband Jack Brooksbank, who are already parents to two-year-old August, welcomed their son Ernest George Ronnie last Tuesday. Despite being born to a princess and being 13th in line to the throne, the baby boy won't get a royal title because only grandchildren of the monarch are entitled. Instead, it's likely the child will be simply Master or Miss Brooksbank - much like his sibling, August. His birth means he will be pushing others down the line of succession - including the Duke of Edinburgh, Princess Royal and Peter Philips. The first 12 places in the line of succession will remain unchanged - the Prince of Wales, Prince George, Princess Charlotte, Prince Louis, Harry, and Archie Mountbatten-Windsor. They are followed by Lilibet, the Duke of York, Princess Beatrice and her daughter Sienna, as well as Princess Eugenie and her eldest son August. Born last Tuesday weighing 7lbs 1oz, Ernest's name pays tribute to his late grandfather, Jack's dad George, who died aged 72 in 2021, Fergie's father Major Ronald Ferguson and Eugenie's great grandfather Ernest. Sharing the news on Instagram, Eugenie wrote: 'Jack and I wanted to share the news that we had our little boy, Ernest George Ronnie Brooksbank on 30th May 2023 at 8.49 weighing 7.1lbs. 'He is named after his great great great Grandfather George, his Grandpa George and my Grandpa Ronald. 'Augie is loving being a big brother already.' The youngest daughter of Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York had her first son August two years ago, and first announced the family's newest addition in January, with an adorable snap on Instagram. The sweet post showed two-year-old August kissing her stomach as she told followers about her pregnancy. 'We’re so excited to share that there will be a new addition to our family this summer,' Eugenie wrote. The Princess gave birth to her first son August Philip Hawke Brooksbank, who is 13th-in-line to the throne, at London's Portland Hospital in February 2021. And earlier this month, a very pregnant Eugenie was glowing on the Coronation weekend as she took part in several events to celebrate her uncle King Charles III being crowned. As she and the family arrived at Westminster Abbey on May 6 to take their seats for the ceremony, Prince Harry, who sat with his cousin was pictured looking astonished at her baby bump. Expert lip reader Jacqui Press deciphered his words to Eugenie, with whom he is incredibly close, as he saw her at the entrance to the Abbey. She claims he said: 'Wow, amazing look at the bump!', using his hands to indicate to a heavily-pregnant Eugenie's tummy. 'I know', her husband Jack replied, smiling as he walked to his seat. And there's no doubt that little one's grandmother - affectionately known the public as 'Fergie' - is delighted with the newborn. It appeared the excitement proved too much to contain as earlier this month, Eugenie's mother appeared to let slip her due date. But she admitted she gets in trouble for giving them sweets. That same month, on Loose Women, the Duchess of York also told the audience her grandchildren's nickname for her. 'They call me Gigi... like the film,' she explained, also sharing an Easter basket - adorned with bells and other trinkets - which she says signal to her grandchildren that she has arrived. 'They hear me coming,' she said. '"Gigi coming, Gigi coming".' Eugenie and Jack, 36, began dating in 2011 and confirmed their relationship in an appearance at Royal Ascot that year. When Eugenie left London to work for an auction house in New York in 2013, the pair maintained a long-distance relationship. At the time, Jack told The Daily Mail: 'We spend a lot of time on Skype. It's great. We're still very much together.' #princesseu #princeedward
