Villages of Kerala still offer traditional village food. This is our experience from a small tea shop (kiosk) that sells very good village food in a place called Lakkattoor in Kottayam. The shop itself looks classic and of course the food is tasty too.
When we reached in the morning, breakfast preparations were going on. Dosa, Porotta and Palappam with many side dishes. I tasted Dosa with chutney and Papadaboli. It was simple yet delicious. We waited to taste their evening snacks as well. Pazhampori made with ripe plantains tasted good. This shop is not just about the food. The traditionally built shop, firewood stove, welcoming shop keepers, and the village ambiance made it a different experience.
