Mutton Paya Curry Recipe in details:
Ingredients:
Mutton(Goat) Paya - 550 gms
Onions - 2 large
Tomatoes - 1 large
Garlic - 8 to 10 cloves
Ginger - 2 inch in size
Green chillies - 5 to 7
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tbsp
Chilli powder - 1 tbsp
Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tbsp
Cinnamon stick - 4 inch in size
Cardamom - 5 pods
Cloves - 5 to 7
Curry leaves - 1 sprig
Coriander leaves - 1/2 cup
Salt - according to taste
Oil - 3 to 4 tbsp/as required
Water - as required
Recipe:
1) Clean and wash mutton paya.
2) Add paya, onions, tomatoes, turmeric powder, salt and water in pressure cooker and cook for 30 mins or until the bones are soft and tender.
3) Once cooked, keep it aside.
4) Heat a casserole or pan on medium heat, add oil as required.
5) Add the whole spices mentioned above along with onions and let the onions brown( Making sure not to burn it).
6) Once the onions are ready, add ginger,garlic and green chilli paste, and cook it for 5 mins or until raw smell dissapears.
7) Then add curry leaves (this gives nice aroma to the curry) chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, roast it for a minute (Making sure not to burn it).
8) Then add the cooked paya.
9) Let it cook for 5 mins and then add water as required and cook for further 15 mins.
10) Add coriander leaves and let simmer for 5 mins.
Mutton paya is ready!!
