Redick, Butler and others left that summer, Tobias became in my opinion a non-factor id="hidden20" class="buttons"> and Ben crumbled without a speck of confidence left after this series. He became a regular season dude and Embiid became unstoppable. That’s how quickly it happens if you have strong personalities like Jimmy on your teams. It will happen in Miami as well. He’s a great player and a cancer but he was right about Simmons. Some guys can’t handle the bright lights. I hope he ends up in Cleveland so he can rebuild his game. He needs to go somewhere he can take twenty shots a game and fail a lot without the fans riding him. He needs his own team without a ball killer like Embiid. He’s not a half court guy. Maybe he should not bring the ball up unless it’s a break. He’s a better version of Westbrook. He just needs his own team who won’t ask him to do more than he can and will accept his imperfections. I remember seeing the first bounce go off the rim and I thought it was over my heart sunk. Then that ball kept going up and up and up again and then it dropped. Holy Christ was I floored. I sat on the table with my hands on my head mouth open and I just kept on saying “what? what? what?” For like 1 minute “what” was the only thing that could come out of my mouth as my mom just sat there watching me finally feel relief after seeing that game go back and forth for 48 glorious minutes.
