The Illegal Wildlife Trade (IWT) is a pressing and urgent global issue. Ranked as the world’s fourth largest criminal activity, after drugs, counterfeit goods and human trafficking, IWT remains an unfortunately attractive business for poachers and smugglers, with Southeast Asia at the epicentre of much of this illicit activity. In our efforts to raise awareness in Singapore about wildlife crime - from illegal wildlife trade to domestic demand - and the capabilities that Singapore has built over the years to tackle this problem, we teamed up with NParks and renown wildlife filmmaker, Jayaprakash Bojan, to produce a documentary that shines the spotlight on: 🔦 The scale and nature of consumption of IWT here in Singapore, and why does it concern us? 🔦 What is Singapore doing in its efforts to halt the illegal wildlife trade? We are grateful to NParks, and ICA Singapore for their support, and to everyone who worked fervently behind the scenes to bring this documentary to life. Only together will we be able to raise awareness, influence change and scale up conservation activity on a global scale, to create a lasting conservation impact. We are all in this together, let’s continue to fight the good fight!
