WWF-SINGAPORE_Tiger Unveil Sentosa

WWF-Singapore team and Sentosa Development Corporation are delighted to officially unveil the specially decorated tiger sculpture, entitled “Search”, at the Sentosa Nature Discovery. The sculpture was purchased by the Board of Directors and Supporters of WWF-Singapore during the auction held at the end of the WWF-Singapore AR-mazing Tiger Trail, a campaign that took place earlier in May this year. “Search” was one of 34 life-sized tigers on display, and was painted by artists from Lasalle College of the Arts, with the support of Temenggong Artists-in-Residence. The artists shared their inspiration that, “The painterly strokes and colours on this Malayan Tiger are abstract representations of their habitat. The landscape of clouds and vast wilderness, worn by the Tiger, signals a sense of loss as the Tigers are losing their home, which will eventually lead to their extinction. Facing this peril, this Tiger calls out for global awareness and public education in protecting its habitat.” We wish to express our sincere thanks to Sentosa Development Corporation for finding a lovely home for this Tiger sculpture. There is no better location to place this sculpture than at the Sentosa Nature Discovery, a nature trail that provides visitors the opportunity to appreciate the rainforest habitat that is also the home of the Malayan Tiger. We hope that the placement of the sculpture will signify the importance of greater collaboration between WWF-Singapore and the Sentosa Development Corp in creating an impactful change together.
