Philly Grappling Industries January 2023 - Gi (Match 1 of 3)

I lost this bout 6-0 from a last-minute sweep to mount after being tied 0-0 for the first 4 1/2 minutes. I really need to work on passing closed guard (and knowing how advantages and penalties work) since it seemed like I still really blanked out here. I should have put my knee in the middle to create extra pressure. Passing half guard seems to be the game that I’m developing, but I need to learn how to deal with the gi grips while doing so. I also shouldn’t try to do any headlocks or submissions from closed guard. But when our lizard brain is in competition mode, we do stupid white belt things in a futile effort to wear them down, especially as a former wrestler 😂
