In this video I show a detailed tutorial on how I ice dye hoodies! its pretty simple to do, and I have learned a lot of tips and tricks along the way that I thought I would show you! Add Soda Ash to Water Bucket few tablespoons is all you need. 2. Let set for 30 mins 3. Remove clothes and rinse 4. Bunch up clothes, wrap in rubber bands. 5. Place cardboard around items so ice doesn't fall off 6. Place ice over clothing (you CAN place dye first then ice on top of dye) 7. Place selected cold activated dyes over ice 8. Let ice melt! If dye is clumped on top, add more ice and wait, flip item over repeat. 9. Rinse out dye in cold water, leave rubber bands on until darker dye removed, then remove bands and rinse more until dye is less bright. 10. Wash and dry clothes on HOT cycles with Synthrapol and dryer sheets 11. @JAMDESIGNSمنذ 3 سنوات your videos! I’m new to ice dyeing and found your videos really helpful. I think you might be the only online tutorial that gives the step to flip the <span id="hidden2" class="buttons">item after the ice melts and repeat process. Might be a no brainer but I appreciate the detail!
I recently dyed a linen top and I wanted to dye a simple slip dress. I ran out of ice so I put the dress into the bucket under the shirt and let the ice water drip onto the dress. I had soaked the dress in soda ash and the colors just clung to the fabric. When the ice completely melted I submerged the dress. I expected the dress to come out more solid but it’s incredible. Lots of color variations. Maybe you can try it on small items like your socks.

@julesf959منذ 4 سنوات You don't need the cardboard and the reason you don't see other people with a setup like that is because your garments should be much more flat id="hidden8" class="buttons"> to soak in the liquid! As the ice melts, the water disperses outward, which is where many of the colors will combine and create affects. The reason that some of your pieces have large color clots is from those corners that powder and ice are getting stuck in! Same reason you can see bits of powder that went directly into the garment. Also this is probably why you are flipping them and dying again! With ice, you ideally want to do one clean soak with dye for an even dispersion. Otherwise, flipping and soaking again will mostly likely simply blend every color you've got going on. Cheers! ....وسعت
