@karensmith2115منذ 8 سنوات Love your suggestions on the 5 essential men's shoes! I'm a men's stylist and like Synovia suede protector (they make a leather one too) that id="hidden4" class="buttons"> Nordstrom sells. Inexpensive and works great! Also a small suede brush is handy to clean your suede and makes your shoes look like brand new. Thanks Ashley for all your tips! ....وسعت

@tnetroPمنذ 7 سنوات Good video. Very informative. I love shoes and think I have a shoe addiction:
    * Black leather soled cap toe oxfords (for suits)
    * Black id="hidden5" class="buttons"> leather soled derby's (for suits, smarter trousers, crisp black jeans)
    * Dark brown leather soled oxford brogues (for dark wash indigo jeans and smarter trousers with a sports jacket)
    * Mid brown leather soled double monks (for jeans, chinos, trousers, suits)
    * Casual trainers (sneakers to you in the US)
    * Smart white trainers (white/green Stan Smith's, just like here)
    * Brown winter boots with a commando sole (for jeans and cords)
    * Brown calf chukka's with dainite sole (for jeans and chinos - autumn, winter, spring)
    * Tan suede chukka's with dainite sole (for jeans and chinos - autumn and spring)
    * Dark brown suede chukka's with leather sole (for jeans and chinos - spring, summer, autumn)
    * Tan suede chukka's with leather sole (for jeans and chinos - spring, summer, autumn)
I'd quite like another pair of mid brown or tan leather soled semi brogues and possibly some black chelseas. But apart from that I think I'm just about reaching the stage where I have a shoe for all occasions and just need to replace them as they wear out. The black oxford and derby, along with the dainite soled chukka's are higher quality shoes that can be rebuilt by the manufacturer (British made) so should last a considerable time with the right care. As the others need replacing over time I'll likely also replace with higher end items.

@fredriklundgren8898منذ 8 سنوات I actually think you forgot one shoe, the brown Brogues. Depending on material, you can wear them with your casual clothes (like jeans and sport coat) id="hidden6" class="buttons"> or you can go for a more formal option and wear them with chinos/blazer.
I own two pair myself. One in a coarse finish, and one that is more shiny.
I went for Loake 1880 and Cockett & Jones on my shoes, but if you have the money definitely look towards Edward Green.

@CoreyCJordanمنذ 7 سنوات There was a time when I had several pairs of running and training shoes I would wear regularly. That was a long time ago. Now in my mid 60's, I have id="hidden8" class="buttons"> forgone the athletic shoes for more "age appropriate" footwear. For casual summer wear, I may choose light tan "Top Siders" or even a less formal pair of suede and leather brown and white derby style "spectators". These can be worn with white or off-white pants as well as just about any other light, summer colors. "Spectators", like the "Top Siders", are basically April through September shoes if you live in a location where winters are cold. Casual Mocs are always great to own, but suede Mocs are a pain to keep clean. Suede does not like getting wet, so consider the weather when selecting shoes. A pair of classic quality Penny Loafers are also great shows to own, as they can be worn with casual outfits, including a blazer or sports jacket. You can add a hand tied bow tie to put some snap in the outfit without seeming too formal. Don't forget brogues. As too boots.I have several different styles, including lace-up, Cowboy, Chuka and Chelsea boots. All are casual wear boots, except perhaps, for Chelsea's, which sometimes will work with a suit. Colors? Black for formal wear, browns and Oxblood work with everything but black or charcoal suits. Lighter browns, tans, even white for summer wear with appropriate warm weather styles and colors. Avoid square toes. Don't forget socks! Single color socks are great for formal wear, but boring with casual dress. For casual wear, I don't shy away from bold socks. I like Argyles of various color combinations. ....وسعت

@archipelago9376منذ 5 سنوات Cap toe Oxfords over plain toe derbies FTW ;)
As for other colors, imo a deep burgundy might actually be THE most versatile dress shoe color. They id="hidden14" class="buttons"> go with Navy suits/pants, but also charcoal, which brown shoes can't really do. And black shoes don't really go with brown suits/khaki pants, but burgundy shoes do. The only other shoe color that can come close in versatility is a dark brown (imho)

@davidchang1681منذ 7 سنوات Hey Ashley, a little late to this video but I just wanted to say I really appreciate the advice from this video. When watching videos on Youtube, I try id="hidden23" class="buttons"> to avoid the comments section because they're usually filled with teens or idiots who believe they're experts on everything. Unfortunately I did read some of the comments, some were good, and others were just hilarious.
Anyways, just wanted to let you know I 100% agree with your advice.
And for those trolls who wanna talk down this videos by asking where all the super trendy shoes. Sure, some people can look great in them but please learn to read the title of the video. Not everyone can rock a pair or Jordan's nor is it necessary in a individual's wardrobe. Imagine what your date would think of you if you wore a bright, ostentatious pair of sneakers on a first date (i'm referring to adults) or even worse, a job interview.
I guess all i'm trying to say is, (others have mentioned it), there is a difference between Style and Fashion. The sooner you learn, the sooner you'll stop looking like a damn idiot.
I guess my next advice is: grow up. If you're 30 years old without any of the shoes Ashley mentioned and the only purpose on why you're watching this video is to talk down on it, grow up.
    Thanks Ashley!

@cigsmoker8518منذ 7 سنوات Spot on. But, from the perspective of a man who is not entirely without style, I mainly tend to disagree with sticking to rather bland color schemes id="hidden29" class="buttons"> for running/cross trainers as I love wearing super bright neon green or fire engine red sneakers to add a burst of color to the many shades of grey as well as black and blues my workout apparel tend to exhibit.  Colorful sneakers truly make me feel like the delicate flower that I am whilst I jack steel like a complete savage ;-).  Plus, the brighter sneakers tend to be reflective which helps when jogging at night. safety first!    I never. repeat.NEVER!  wear white sneakers.  For a casual sneaker, you really can't beat a pair of canvas Chuck Taylor All-Stars, white if you must have it :-/, they also make some really stylish low/high top leather CTs or the plethora of manufactures making similarly styled footwear.     For dress shoes. Oxfords. Oxfords and oh yeah did I mention OXFORDS!!! :-)  Basically, It is absolutely correct that there is only a slight design difference between the Oxford and the Derby.  However, the lacing design of the Oxford makes them appear more slim, sleek and I believe the slimming quality also creates a more tailored look.  Buy higher quality soft leather (cough.. cough. Italian) your feet will thank you.  Better quality shoes are also more resistant to scratches and will continue to look good with age and good maintenance.  I highly recommend cedar shoe trees.  Also, consider the climate where you are located as you can get a nice dress shoe that has a rubber insert for better traction if it rains/snows frequently in your area.  Dress/casual boots are likely a new level of style for the average joe and probably require a lot of men to rethink their entire wardrobe but they are most certainly essential with proper dress/casual attire.  ....وسعت 2
